You're sitting on the sofa in the family room at Mom's, in the 1990s. Across the room: the oak entertainment centre with the big TV, the VCR showing the time, the cable box, the tapes and the CDs; the family computer on its desk in the corner, its screensaver running; the halogen lamp; the silk ficus by the window and its vertical blinds; and the bookcase.
